Smith Anderson was born January 16, 1849, died June 6, 1928 at 10 am at Parnell, Mo. depot on his way to a St Joseph hospital.
Until 16 years of age he resided in Indiana, at which time he with his parents moved east of Hopkins. On Jan 12, 1873 he was united in marriage to Harriet Wilson, to this union eight children were born, three of whom with their mother survive. The children are Everett Anderson of Kaw City, Okla., Mrs Cora Smith, Sheridan, Mo., and Mrs Jennie Mumford of Parnell, Mo., also 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers all of Oklahoma, and one sister, of Franklin, Nebr.
Mr Anderson lived for 32 years at his present farm home west of Parnell, Mo. He never united with any church, but expressed himself many times as being ready and anxious to go home to his Master, and that everything was clear to his heavenly home. His 79 years, 4 months and 26 days have no blemish, a clear record as far as humanity knows is his. May the God of all grace comfort the lonely ones that remain.
His remains were laid to rest in the Parnell cemetery. Rev William McLaughlin officiating.
