Emily Snider

Emily J. Snider was born Feb. 15, 1828, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and her early childhood days were spent in Louisville. At about the age of six years she moved with her parents to Marietta, Ohio, and afterwards to Nodaway county, Missouri, where she was married to Ezra Heady. They began housekeeping near Bradyville but a few years later moved to the old homestead six miles south of Villisca, Iowa. Later they moved to Nebraska where he husband's death occurred April 21, 1902.

Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Heady, one, "Squire" Heady of St. Joe is still living. She also leaves three grandchildren, Frank Heady of St. Joe, Charley and W.D. Heady of Steele City.

She joined the Baptist church while a young girl and has always lived as a faithful Christian, ready and glad to go to meet her Lord.

The funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 7, conducted by the Rev. T.C. Priestley, pastor of the M.E. church.
