Bailey, Clara Ann Bain

Mrs E.T. Bailey Dies After Paralytic Stroke - Maryville Daily Forum, Maryville, Missouri Apr 22, 1940

Mrs Clara Ann Bailey, wife of the late Judge E.T. Bailey, who served as judge of the Nodaway county court for sixteen years, died at 10 o'clock Saturday night at her home, 311 West Halasey street.

Mrs Bailey's death came unexpectedly, as she had been up town Saturday afternoon. About 6 o'clock she suffered a paralytic stroke and was found unconscious a short while later by Mrs Paul Ward and Mrs Katherine Bennett, neighbors. Mrs Bailey suffered another stroke at 9 o'clock. She never regained consciousness after the first attack.

Mrs Bailey, the former Clara Ann Bain, was born December 19, 1870, in Fremont County, Ia. She and Mrs Bailey were married at Maryville March 15, 1893. His death occurred April 2, 1936.

Mrs Bailey was active in the work of the First Methodist church.

She is survived by two sons, Glenn M. Bailey of Princeton, Mo., and Donald R. Bailey of Grinnell, Ia; seven grandchildren; one sister, Mrs Charles Turpin, Burlington Junction, and two brothers, Hardee Bain, Billings, Mont, and Elvery Bain, Lees Summit, Mo.

The son, Donald, and his family arrived yesterday morning, having planned beforehand to come to visit his mother yesterday and today.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Price funeral home with Dr W.H. Hackman, pastor of the Methodist church, in charge. Burial will be in LaMar cemetery near Elmo.

 

Bainum, Clorine Ellouise “Cody” Mitchell, 86, died Thursday, August 28, 2008, in Grant City.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 31, at Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home, Grant City, with Rev. Delbert officiating. Interment was in the Sheridan Cemetery, Sheridan.
Arrangements were under the direction of Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home, Grant City.


Baker, J.R. - JR Baker, 78, Bolckow, died Saturday, June 6, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital and Health Services, Maryville.
Services were held Tuesday, June 9, at the Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville. Final resting place was in Weathermon Cemetery, Guilford.

Baker, Otis Ray - Otis Ray Baker, 83, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at the Ringgold County Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 11 am, Saturday, May 23, at the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home, Grant City. Visitation is from 6-8 pm, Friday, May 22. Interment will be in the Grant City Cemetery.

MRS GEORGE BARBER DIES
Funeral Services Conducted May 16 at Torrington, Wyo

Funeral services for Mrs George Edward Barber of Torrington, Wyo, formerly of Parnell, were conducted at 2:30 o'clock the morning of May 16 at the mortuary in Torrington by the Reverend Belyne. Burial was in the Valley View cemetery of Torrington.

Mrs Barber age 73, died at 4:05 o'clock the afternoon of May 12 in a Torrington hospital following an illness of two weeks. She was born January 5, 1877, in Nodaway county [Missouri]. She was the former Miss Alta Mae Cossins, daughter of Mr and Mrs Samuel N. Cossins. She moved 15 years ago to Torrington from a farm near Sheridan. On January 23, 1895, she was married to Mr Barber in Maryville.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Earl Barber, Torrington, and Samuel Barber, Denver, Colo; three daughters, Mrs Grace Dye, St Joseph; Mrs Minnie Clutter, Torrington, and Mrs Anna Rowe, Sheridan; two sisters, Mrs Kate Slaight, Bedford, Ia, and Mrs Lela Coy, Torrington, Wyo; two brothers, Lafayette Cossins, Sheridan, and Dr Carlos Cossins, St Joseph; 34 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs Lola Schmitz, preceded her in death.

 

Bare, William Delmar - (William) Delmar Bare, 77, Barnard, died Friday, Dec 15 [1989] at St Francis Hospital in Maryville [Missouri].

Born Oct 2, 1912 in Bolckow to William Bare and Mary Dreher Bare, Mr Bare was a retired farmer. He was a member of Church of Christ in Barnard. He married Arlene Hammond on Dec 22, 1934 in Savannah.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Arlene Bare, Barnard; a son, Larry Bare, Primghar, Iowa; a daughter, Linda Bond, Olathe, Kan; a sister, Bessie Cotter, Savannah; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 am Monday at Price Funeral Chapel in Maryville with the Rev Harry Cook officiating.

Burial will be in Barnard Masonic Cemetery in Barnard under the direction of Price Funeral Home, Inc of Maryville.

Visitation is currently underway at the funeral home.

Bateman, Ruth Ellen, 91, Maryville, died Wednesday, October 5, 2005, at St. Francis Hospital and Health Services, Maryville.

Mrs. Bateman’s body has been cremated and a private burial will be held at a later date.

Surviving Alice is daughter, Mary Daniels, Maryville; four sons, Richard, Seattle, WA; Paul, Pleasant Hill, MO; Darrell, Kansas City, MO and Robert, New Market, IA; three sisters, Ruth Morrow and Georgia Ulmer, both of Maryville and Lorayne Ulmer, St. Joseph, MO; 16 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren,
Services were Saturday, October 4th at Price Funeral Home, Maryville, MO, with burial at the Hopkins Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association.

Beason, Paula J., 44, Marshfield, formerly of Hopkins and Pleasant Hill, died Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at her home.
Cremation has been accorded. Memorial services were held January 8 at the Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield. A celebration of life was held January 9 at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.

Anna Shearer Bebout
Anna Shearer, the only daughter of Henry and Charlotte Shearer, was born October 1, 1862 in Page county, Iowa, and died on August 26, 1939 at the home of her son Harold Bebout of Norwalk, Calif., aged 75 years, 10 months and 25 days.
On November 1, 1888 she was united in marriage to George Bebout and to them seven children were born, Lola, Nellie, Roy, Georgia, Charlotte, Clarence and Harold.
Mrs. Bebout was preceded in death by her parents and son Clarence, who met death accidentally in 1917.
She is survived by her four daughters, Lola Besco of Bedford who helped care for her mother the last three months of her illness; Nellie Mann of Camerville, Calif.; Charlotte Miller of Hopkins; and Georgia Waldruff of Clearmont, Mo.; and two sons, Roy Bebout of Hopkins and Harold Bebout of Norwalk, Calif. Also one brother, J. D. Shearer of Hopkins, a half-brother, J. R.Waldruff of Braddyville, a half sister, Cora Ridnour of Seneca, Nebr., eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of friends.
Mrs. Bebout became a member of the Christian church at Braddyville and later transferred her membership to the Christian church of Hopkins. Most of her life was spent in and about the communities of Braddyville and Hopkins.
Six years ago she went to Norwalk, Calif., to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Mann and her son Harold.
Mrs. Bebout's funeral was held at the Shearer church in Clarinda, Rev. C. Max Buck of Bedford in charge. Burial was in the Shearer cemetery.

Beeman, Elmer - Elmer Beeman, 59, Council Bluffs, Iowa, brother of Delbert Beeman, Maryville, and a former resident, died Wednesday at his home at Clyde, Texas, where arrangements are pending.

He was a former manager of the Maryville Safeway Store.

Also surviving are his wife, Margaret; two daughters, Kathleen; Jeanene, Abilene, Texas; five sons, David, Las Vegas, Nev; Eddie, Abilene, Paul, Clyde; and Steve and James, of the home.

Bainum, Florence Lawson - Florence Bainum, 98, Maryville, died Wednesday, May 9, at Parkdale Manor Nursing Home in Maryville.

Born Nov 8, 1891, at Wilcox to Abijah and Mary Elizabeth Hooker Lawson, Mrs Bainum was a retired teacher, seamstress and homemaker. She was a member of the Maryville First United Methodist Church. She married Allen Haller in 1913. She married Clarence Bainum on Oct 2, 1930 in Maryville.

She was preceded in death by both husbands, two brothers and a half sister.

Survivors include a son, Guy Reece Haller, Maryville; a daughter, Marian Dempsey, Maryville; three sisters, Leatha Black and Lucille Dowden of Maryville, and Gladys King of Colorado Springs, Colo; a sister-in-law, Viola Lawson, Colorado Springs, Colo; two grandsons, three great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1 pm Friday at Price Funeral Home Chapel in Maryville with the Rev John Spalding officiating. Burial will be in the Wilcox Cemetery near Maryville under the direction of Price Funeral Home, Inc of Maryville.

Bachle, Bess - Bess Bachle, 94, died Sunday (July 28, 1985) at Maryville Health Care Center.

She was born April 17, 1893, in Aurora, Neb., to William and Bertha Terpstra Weingarten.

On Sept 20, 1919, she married Edward Philip Bachle in Marysville, Kan.

She was graduated from the Beatrice Sanitarium School of Nursing and served as a Red Cross nurse in World War I.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Beatrice, Neb., and the D.Y.T. Club in Liberty, Neb.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother, William John Wingarten.

Survivors include a daughter, Kay Murphy, and two grandchildren, Timothy and Daniel Murphy, all of Maryville; Mr and Mrs Hally Barstow, Omaha, Neb.; and eight nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday (July 30, 1985) at Price Funeral Home, Maryville. Services are planned for 10 a.m. (July 31, 1985) at Price Funeral Home, with the Rev Robert Ceperly officiating.

Services are also planned for 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Liberty Cemetery Chapel in Liberty. Burial will be in Liberty.

Memorials may be given to the Cancer Fund or First Presbyterian Church, Maryville.

Boham, George M. Dies Here [Creston, Ia] at 68

George M. Boham, 68, died Friday at the Iowana hotel where he had been making his home. His body was found in his room about 4:30 p.m. He apparently had been dead for several hours.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am. Monday at Coens Home for Funerals. Burial will be in Mason [sic, Masonic] cemetery at Barnard, Mo.

Mr Boham had been employed by the Creston street department for 23 years before his retirement in 1957. He had lived in Creston since 1926.

George M. Boham was born at Barnard, Mo., Oct 6, 1895. He was the son of John R. and Dollie Sniffin Boham. He had never married.

He is survived by three brothers, Thomas F. Boham of Creston, E.R. boham of Lenox and W.M. Boham of Fullerton, Calif; and a sister, Mrs Irene Reed of Creston.
