Palmer, Bob Wesley - Bob Wesley Palmer, 44, of Ravenwood, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at the St. Francis Hospital.

Born on June 15, 1964 in St. Joseph, Missouri he was the son of Paul W. & Betty Marie (Ray) Palmer of Pickering, Missouri.

He was a member of the Countryside Christian Church & Ravenwood Christian Church. He was a drummer with "Black Label Band" and the "Ravenwood Barn Door Opry". He was an avid knife maker.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his devoted wife whom he married on June 9, 1990, Terri Renee (Summa) Palmer, a brother, Brian Palmer, Maryville, mother and father in law, Vern & Evelyn Summa, brother & sister in law, Paul Stiens, Jr. and wife Brenda, Maryville, nephews, Jeremy, Kyle, Logan Stiens and a niece Katelyn Stiens, 3 great nephews, & 1 great niece. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John & Anna Palmer, George & Edna Ray.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Friday, January 16, 2009 at the Countryside Christian Church, Maryville. Final Resting Place will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ravenwood. Pappert, Ryan Joseph - Ryan Joseph Pappert, 3 months, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at the St. Francis Hospital.

Born on October 2, 2009 in St. Joseph, Missouri he was the son of Charles Joseph Pappert, Jr. & Hope Renee (Droegemueller) Pappert.

He was a member of the St. Columba Catholic Church.

In addition to his devoted parents he is survived by his loving sisters, Vanessa Pappert & Jaclyn Pappert at home, paternal grandparents, Charles & Jane Pappert, Clyde, MO and maternal grandparents, Carl & Marcia Droegemueller, Maryville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the St. Columba Catholic Church, Conception Junction, MO. Final Resting Place will be in the St. Columba Cemetery, Conception, MO. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6 to 7 P.M. at the church with a wake service starting at 7 P.M. Parker, Billy Joe -

Billy Joe Parker, 75, Maryville, Missouri died Saturday, August 22, 2009, at Golden Living Center in Maryville, Missouri.

Born Saturday, January 20, 1934 in Grant City, Missouri, he was the son of the late Wilzie andWilma McClure Parker.

Joe married Helen Louise Bowland on November 6, 1953 in Maryville. She preceded him in death on August 5, 1996.

He was a retired technician with the United Telephone Company. He and his wife were the founders and owners of Parker's Western Wear and Tack in Maryville.

Joe helped start the Martha Washington 4-H Saddle Club and was a former member of the Nodaway County Sheriff's Posse.

He was predeceased by his wife, Helen, brother, Johnny Parker and sister, Venetta Robertson.

Surviving are son, Kirby Parker and wife Lisa, daughter, Vicki Cady and husband Larry, all of Maryville.brother, Jack Parker, Ravenwood, Missouri, sisters, Fern Burns, Parnell, Missouri, Arlene Carroll, Maryville, Betty Smith and Wanda Sue Seitz, both of Winterset, Iowa. three grandchildren, Jennifer McDowell and husband Jason, Joe Cady and wife Ashley and Matt Parker, all of Maryville, two greatgrandchildren Chris and Logan McDowell and special friend Marilyn Dowling, Maryville.

Parman, John Leo - John Leo Parman, 81, of Maryville and formerly of Barnard, passed from this life on Monday, September 28, 2009 at his home.

He was born on May 22, 1928 in Denver, Missouri to Dennis W. & Carrie M. (Abplanalp) Parman.

He graduated from Graham High School, where he excelled in basketball. He farmed with his wife, Ruth in Barnard till they retired in 2003. He was a member of the Laura Street Baptist Church and a former member of the Graham Lions Club.

He was an avid fan of Northwest Missouri University Bearcats football and basketball teams, and after retirement he enjoyed fishing. He was very devoted to his family and his church.

He is survived by his devoted wife Ruth Jean (Burns) Parman whom he married on May 22, 1949 in Barnard, MO, loving sons, Kurby Parman and wife Terri, Barnard, Bob Parman and wife Nancy, Barnard, grandchildren, Bobbi Holmes and husband Seneca, Aurora, CO, Cody & Austin Parman, Barnard, Jessie Prettyman and husband Nathan, Barnard, Brooke & Allie Nauman, great grandchildren, Seneca & Santonio John Holmes, step grandchild, Jaylynn Wilmes., brother, Charles Parman, Pickering, MO, Lester Parman, Allen, TX, Donald Parman, West Lafayette, Indiana. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Parshall, Melvin C. -

Melvin Parshall, 83, Burlington Junction, Missouri died Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at the Fairfax Community Hospital, Fairfax, Missouri.

The son of Everett Arnold and Fern Valentine (Graham)Parshall Melvin was born September 8, 1924 in Burlington Junction, Missouri. He graduated from Quitman High School, Quitman, Missouri and he married Clara Louise Crockett May 9, 1943 in Maryville, Missouri.

Melvin was a member of the Quitman Methodist Church. He was a farmer and he sold Moorman Feeds. He loved hunting, fishing and bowling.

Melvin was preceded in death by his wife: Clara on August 23, 2002; his parents and a
grandson: Dickie Parshall.

Survivors include his children and their spouses: Gary and Judy Parshall, Clearmont, Missouri; Dickie Parshall, and Roger and Nikki Parshall, all of Tarkio Missouri; Gloria and Bill Martz, Burlington Junction, Missouri; Shirley Kay and Rodney Wake and Kristie and Skeeter Hale, both of Rock Port, Missouri; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and a brother: Arnold Parshall, Burlington Junction, Missouri.

Partridge, Judy Ann Alloway - Judy Ann Partridge, 63 of Maryville, passed from this life on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Maryville, MO.

Born in Maryville, Missouri on March 23, 1945 she was the daughter of the late Clarence A. & Mary F. (Hitchcock) Alloway.

She was a member of the Community of Faith Church in Maryville.

She was a Self-Employed Hair Stylist.

She is survived by her loving sons, Ronald Adam Partridge, Maryville, Donald Wade Partridge, Maryville, brothers, James L. Alloway, Graham, William D. Alloway, Graham, an aunt, Thelma Linville, Graham, and grandson, Tyler Partridge. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ronald G. Partridge.

Partridge, Ronald G., 69, of Maryville, passed from this life on Friday, April 20, 2007 at his home.

Born on July 22, 1937 in Maryville, Missouri he was the son of the late Arthur Francis Partridge & Anna Marie (Everhart) Bartholomew.

He was of the Protestant Faith.

He worked in construction most of his life.

He was a Member and Past President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Maryville.

He lettered in three sports during his high school and college years.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Judy Ann (Alloway) Partridge, whom he married on May 8, 1979 in Troy, KS, loving sons, Ronald Adam Partridge and Donald Wade Partridge both of Maryville and one grandson, Tyler Partridge. He is survived by aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Patience, Robert Neal -

Robert Neal Patience, 92, Maryville, Missouri, died Thursday, October 2, 2008, at Lamoni Nursing and Rehab Center in Lamoni, Iowa.

He was born December 12, 1915, in Imogene, Iowa to George and Cora (Wood) Patience and was a 1933 graduate of Shenandoah High School.

Robert married Velma Newberg on August 23, 1937, in Shenandoah, Iowa, and he was employed with Earl May Seed Company. In 1947 they moved to a farm near Conception Junction, Missouri and had a dairy and field crop operation. They moved to Maryville in 1966 and he was employed with Northwest Missouri State University's college farm He was later employed with the Maryville R-II Public School District as maintenance supervisor and steam engineer until his retirement in 1980.

Robert was a member of the Men's Forum, the Pickering Lions Club and Maryville Community of Christ Church, where he held the office of teacher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Velma, brothers: Floy, Kenneth, Donald and infant brother Gerald and sisters: Dortha Shoemaker and Gladys Patience.

Robert is survived by his daughter Carolyn (Jon) Burchfield, Lamoni, Iowa; son Robert W. (Jean) Patience, Boonville, Missouri; brother Russell Patience, Shenandoah, Iowa; sisters: Hazel Younger, Los Angeles, California; Lois Knowlton, Temple City, California; Evelyn Hird, San Diego, California; five grandchildren: Mark (Nicole) Patience, Greg (Jennifer) Patience, Lisa (Jeff) Burns, Jeffrey (Christine) Burchfield and Kendall Burchfield; and six great-grandchildren: Thomas and Carolyn Burchfield; Kassi and RJ Burns; Nicholas and Matthew Patience.

Peery, Thelma Pearl Blessman -

Pearl (Blessman) Peery, 92 Elmo, Missouri passed away, November 11, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital, Maryville, Missouri.

She was born September 7, 1917, in Shannon City, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Eva (Roush) Blessman. Pearl married Oren Edmond Peery November 15, 1936 in Lincoln, Nebraska. A homemaker, she had lived most of her married life in the Elmo Community with the exception of the past four years in Golden Living Center, Maryville.

Mrs. Peery was a member of the Clearmont Baptist Church, Clearmont, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Oren on March 3, 2002; her parents; a sister: Opal Mae Dove; a son-in-law: Lowell Acklin and a great-granddaughter: Jacqueline Pankau.

Survivors include her daughters: Viola (Hubert) Gumm, Maryville, Missouri; Leola (Joe) Pankau, Pineville, Missouri and Linda (Floyd) Dixon, Huntington, Oregon; a son: Galen (Karen) Peery, Kiron, Iowa; 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is 7 – 8:30 pm Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the Clearmont Baptist Church,

Funeral Services are 10 am Friday, November 13, 2009 at the Baptist Church in Clearmont, Missouri. Burial will be in High Prairie Cemetery, Elmo, Missouri.

Perry, Evelyn Lucille - Evelyn Lucille Perry, born November 15, 1923, passed away May 22, 2008 at the age of 84 in Tucson, Arizona at St. Joseph Medical Center.
Evelyn was married to Carl C. Perry on August 12, 1943 in Hiawatha Kansas. They lived on a farm near Hopkins Missouri for several years prior to moving to the farm west of Bedford, Iowa in 1955. Evelyn moved Tucson, AZ, in 1986. In 1995 she moved to Virden, New Mexico where she was living at the time of her death.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Connie Steppes and Kathryn Perry; sister, Maxie Deem; half-sister, Margaret Phillippe; and half-brothers, Lowell Peters and Don Peters. Her grandchildren are Erica Beason, Michaela LaFever, Trisha Crum, Cavin Cox and Pam Lassiter. She also has nine great-grandchildren and had just learned of another great-grandchild that is due to arrive in December 2008.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl C. Perry in 1982; both parents, brother, Irvin Thompson; and her half-brother, Robert Peters.
Funeral services were conducted on May 27, 2008 at the First Baptist church in Duncan, Arizona. Interment was at the Franklin, Arizona Cemetery.
Evelyn loved to quilt and spend time with her family. She entered many of her quilts in the Greenlee County fair and won many blue ribbons. She rarely kept any of her quilts, always giving them to her family and friends
Phillippe, Helen Marie Riley Travis -

Helen Marie Riley Phillippe, 92, Savannah, Missouri died on Sunday, April 5, 2009, at Carriage Square Health Care Center in Saint Joseph, Missouri.

Born on May 24, 1916 in Mound City, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Rosetta Combs Travis.

She was a graduate of Mound City High School and had been a former employee of Dr. Eugene Brown as a dental assistant.

Helen was first married to Floyd Riley, who passed away in 1976. She later married Donald Phillippe, who died in 1993.

She was a member of the Savannah First Christian Church, Senior Citizen's Center, La Verna Guild, Shady Lawn Auxiliary, ABCD Board and Gray Lady American Red Cross.

She was also predeceased by one brother and four sisters.

Surviving are her daughter Rose Ann (Franklin) Adams, Saint Joseph, three grandchildren: Randy Adams, Saint Joseph, Rhonda (Gary) Allee, Maryville and Joan Adams, Saint Joseph; five great-grandchildren: Rachel Allee, Amanda Adams (Ryan) Smiley, Danielle Farr, Lindsey Allee and Nicole Farr; two sisters: Ruth Littler, Saint Joseph, Vera Duncan (Ralph), Loveland, Colorado; brother Dean (Sue)Travis, Scottsdale, Arizona, brother-in-law Joe Tapp, Carson City, Nevada; sister-in-law Dorothy Travis, Mound City, Missouri; three step-children: Donna (Bob) Silvey, Saint Joseph, Janice (Ron) Christmas and J.B. (Janet) Phillippe, Savannah, several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will meet with friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 7 at Price Funeral Home Chapel, Maryville.

Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 8 at Prairie Home Cemetery in Graham, Missouri.

Phillips, Linda Sue Anderson -

Linda Sue Phillips, 66, Maryville, Missouri, died Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Beverly Living Center in Maryville.

She was born September 2, 1941, in Maryville to Harold and Wanda (Hinton) Anderson. They preceded her in death.

Linda married David E. Phillips on December 17, 1966, in Washington, D.C. She worked as a systems analyst for the Bureau of Personnel with the United States Navy in Washington, D.C.

She was a member of the Pickering United Methodist Church.

Additional survivors include her husband, David of the home in Maryville, son David E. Phillips, Jr. and his wife Renita of Kansas City, Missouri, and grandson Ramsey Alexander Phillips.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Price Funeral Home Chapel, Maryville, Missouri. The family will hold a visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008 also at the funeral home. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery Pickering.

Piel, Elaine Thompson -

Elaine (Thompson) Piel, 80, died Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at her home in rural Maryville, Missouri. Elaine was born November 30, 1926 in rural Barnard, Missouri, the daughter of Ray and Lavina (Goforth) Thompson.

A 1944 graduate of Barnard High School, Barnard, Missouri she attended Northwest Missouri State College in Maryville from 1945-1949, earning certification in Elementary Education. Elaine taught from 1945-1954 at the Jones Branch, Swallow, Swinford and Lincoln Schools in Nodaway County, Missouri.

She married Martin Eugene Piel June 3, 1954 in Maryville. A homemaker, she was a member
of the Community of Christ Church, Maryville.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband: Eugene Piel on March 26, 2004; her parents and her sister: Doris Griggs.

Survivors include two daughters: Dixie Piel, Maryville and Charlene Piel, Kansas City, Missouri

Visitation is 7-8pm Friday, August 31, 2007 at Price Funeral Home, Maryville.

Funeral service is 2:00 pm Saturday, September 1, 2007 at Price Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will be in Miriam Cemetery, Maryville, Missouri

Pierson, Amy Arcille Bloomfield -

Amy Arcille Pierson, 85, Quitman, Missouri, died Thursday, February 19, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital in Maryville, Missouri.

She was born November 9, 1923, in Maryville to Glenn and Amy (Leach) Bloomfield. After the death of Arcille's mother, she was raised in the home of Denver and Julia Loch. Arcille was a graduate of Pickering, Missouri High School.

She married Cecil Carl Pierson, CTC US Navy Retired, on March 3, 1942, in Maryville.

A member of the United Methodist Church, she was also a member of the L.L.L. Club, Quitman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cecil Carl Pierson (March 1, 1995), son Thomas Carroll Pierson, brother Warren Elvet Bloomfield and sister Thelma Louise Swift.

She is survived by her daughter Julia Lyle and husband Roy Ed, Burlington Junction, Missouri, three granddaughters: Shelley (Scott) Buckles, King George, Virginia, Sandra (Todd) Mason, Greenfield, Missouri and Robin (Steve) Shamberger, Graham, Missouri, six great-grandchildren: Andrea, Carl and Erin Mason, Blake and Brice Shamberger and Tom Buckles.

The family will have visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service, which is at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Price Funeral Home Chapel, Maryville.
Burial will be in the Quitman Cemetery, Quitman, Missouri.

Pierson, Warren "Barney" Jr - Warren "Barney" Pierson, Jr. 78, Maryville, Missouri, formerly of Barnard, Missouri died Friday, September 21, 2007, at Beverly Living Center in Maryville.

He was born December 10, 1928, in Burlington Junction, Missouri to Warren Clifton Pierson Sr. and Effie (Gray) Pierson.

A 1946 graduate of Barnard High School he married Elsie Margaret "Puddy" (Wohlford) Pierson on May 24, 1949, in Maryville, Missouri.
Mr. Pierson was a heavy equipment operator and a 50 year member of the Operating Engineers #101 in St. Joseph, Missouri. He attended the Barnard Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother Homer Leroy Pierson.

He is survived by his wife Puddy Pierson, Maryville, Missouri; son Martin Pierson, Eagle, Idaho; grandson John Pierson, Denver, Colorado; granddaughter Jennifer Pierson, Eagle, Idaho; sisters Roberta Boss, Ramah, Colorado and Betty Lou Nieberger, Cheyenne, Wyoming.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 24 from 7:00-8:00PM at Price Funeral Home Chapel, Maryville, Missouri

Pinkerton, Bobby J. - Rev. Bobby J. Pinkerton was born May 20, 1937 to Jay and Fay (Packer) Pinkerton in Gentry County, Missouri. He departed this life on August 30, 2008 at his home in Blockton, Iowa.
On December 20, 1959 he was united in marriage to Betty (Lee) Pinkerton. She survives of the home in Blockton.
Rev. Pinkerton has been a pastor of several churches including Blockton Baptist Chapel in Blockton, Iowa, Temple Baptist Chapel in Mason City, Iowa; First Baptist Church in Albany, Missouri, Firs Baptist Church in Gower, Missouri; First Southern Baptist Church in Canon City, Colorado; Lincoln Street Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; Lone Star Baptist Church in Denver, Missouri, Lotts Grove Baptist Church in Hatfield, Missouri; and Denver Baptist Church in Denver, Missouri. God blessed his 50+ year ministry and he served faithfully until the end.
Also surviving are two brothers: Ralph of Salem, Oregon, and Eldon of Windom, Minnesota, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; two bothers: Rex and Max and an infant sister Bonnie Jean.
Funeral Services were held September 2, 2008 at the Prugh-Dunffee Funeral Home in Grant City, Missouri. Interment was in the Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Denver, Missouri.

Pittsenbarger, Marguerite Thompson -

Marguerite Pittsenbarger, Maryville Missouri passed away on August 22, 2008 at the age of 96. Marguerite was born August 17, 1912 on a farm near Hopkins, Missouri to George W. and Magdalene E. DeMott Thompson.

Marguerite attended the Happy Hollow Rural Grade School, graduated from the Gaynor High School and Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, Missouri and also did graduate
work at Warrensburg State and Columbia Universities. She taught in the schools of Nodaway and Platte Counties for 37 years. She loved to work with children and youth. She spent twenty years as a 4-H leader and many years working with the youth groups in the Gaynor Community Church in which she was a member.

On July 29, 1933 she was married to Curtis Pittsenbarger at Troy, Kansas. To this union two children were born, Sharon Mooney and husband Richard of Deltaville, Virginia and George Pittsenbarger of Hopkins, Missouri.

She is also survived by four grandchildren, Curtis Mooney of Woodbridge, Virginia, Carla Sibley and husband Curtis of Deltaville, Virginia, Georgia Beth Williams and husband Keith of North Pole, Alaska, and Lorinda Forster and husband Richard of Honolulu, Hawaii. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Craig, Caitlyn and Courtney Sibley, Jacob and Ashland Williams and Lichen Forester. Additional survivors include one brother Harry Thompson and wife Alma of Hopkins. She also leaves one nephew George Martin and wife Martha of Bolivar, Missouri who was raised in her Hopkins home, and by many other nephews, nieces, friends and the dedicated caregivers who were so wonderful.

She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Pittsenbarger, her parents, two brothers, infant Robert and Roy Thompson, and three sisters Helen Godsey, Mildred Dieter and Esther Martin.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26th at the Price Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri with graveside services in the Hopkins Cemetery on Wednesday, the 27th at 10:30 a.m.

Pope, Harold Raymond -

Harold Raymond Pope, 83, Omaha, Nebraska, (formerly of Maryville, Missouri) died
Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Immanuel Hospital, Omaha.

He was born September 17, 1925 in Maryville, Missouri, the son of Floyd and Mamie
(Dougan) Pope. He was a graduate of Maryville High School and served in the US
Army Air Corp during WWII. Harold married Marguerite “Marge” Ritter June 19,
1948 in Clyde, Missouri.

Mr. Pope had worked for Mobil Oil Company thirty-two years prior to his retirement.

He was a member of St Gerald’s Parish, The Knights of Columbus, The Catholic Men’s
Club and Mobil Retirees.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Earl, John and Floyd Pope Jr.

Survivors include his wife: Marguerite, of their home in Omaha; two sons and daughters-in-law: Jerry and Michelle Pope, Omaha and Hal and Gina Pope, San Pedro, California; four grandchildren: Julianne and Douglas Pope; Brian Pope and Kimberly Pope Romero;
two great-grandchildren: Shaun and Mackenzie Pope; sister: Betty Parker, St. Joseph, Missouri; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation is 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, February 10th St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, Maryville, followed by a rosary at 7pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Burial will be in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Maryville, Missouri.

Potts, Nina Margie McElhiney -

Nina Margie Potts, 93, Hopkins, Missouri, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital in Lee's Summit, Missouri.

Nina was born March 2, 1916, in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Vernon T. and Fern McElhiney. She attended primary school in Benton, Iowa and graduated from high school in Ottawa, Kansas. Nina and Robert "Bob" Potts married February 27, 1937 in Clarinda, Iowa. Bob, her husband of 47 years, passed away October 25, 1984.

Bob and Nina owned and operated Potts Meat Locker Service for 25 years. After they closed the locker, Nina continued working at Mutti Hardware in Hopkins until her retirement in 1983. During WWII, Nina served her country working at the Pratt and Whitney Plant. She was an active member of Wray Memorial United Methodist Church, as a Sunday school teacher, organist and pianist, church treasurer, PEO member, and past President of the Women's Association. Nina, despite a busy schedule, spent much time with her family and even found time for fun as a member of the Hilltop Club, Art Club, and Hopkins bridge club. Nina loved to read, knit, and tackle a crossword puzzle. Nina lived in Hopkins until the age of 92, at which time she moved to Kansas City to be closer to her family and live with her son, Paul Potts.

Survivors include her sister Helen Mendenhall, Fort Dodge, Iowa; sister-in-law, Lucille Potts, Commerce, Texas; son Paul and the late Esther Potts, Grain Valley, Missouri; son Denzil and daughter-in-law Georgianne Potts, Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren Elliott Potts, Kansas City and Mallory Potts, St. Louis, Missouri; Danny and wife Gina Potts, Lee's Summit, Missouri; Kim and husband Bary Kramer, Blue Springs, Missouri; Kris and husband Kerry Pfingston, Lee's Summit, Missouri; Susan Potts-Kennedy, Blue Springs, Missouri; great-grandchildren Kevin Potts, Alysa and Riley Kramer, Jena Brasfield and Jared Lentz, Hannah and Garrett Kennedy, Michelle Hubbard, Melissa Hubbard, Hunter Pfingston, Ashleigh Pfingston; great-great-grandchildren Weston Brasfield, Mason Sawyer, Miray Ekici.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2009, at Wray Memorial United Methodist Church, Hopkins, Missouri. Burial will be in the Hopkins Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2009, also at the church.

Powers, Eva Mae Winslow Colwell -

Eva Mae Powers, 93, Maryville, Missouri died, Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Golden Living Center, Maryville.

She was born March 6, 1915 in Quitman, Missouri, the daughter of Loren and Mattie Pearl (Howard) Winslow. On August 8, 1931 Eva married Harry T. Colwell in Stanberry, Missouri. They were divorced in 1953. She married William T “Bill Powers on December 8, 1956 in Wilcox, Missouri. He died May 9, 1980.

She was a member of the Laura Street Baptist Church, Maryville, Missouri.

Eva was a nurse aid at several healthcare facilities in this area. She also cooked at NWMSU for many years, but to her family she was best known for her homemade bread and apple butter.

In later years, Eva babysat for many area children. She retired after several years, but whenever she saw a little one, a gleam would come in her eyes and she wanted to hold them. They were a joy to her.

In addition to her husbands, Eva was preceded in death by her sister, Marguerite White, other siblings. Russell Shelton, Murry Shelton, Billy Pennington, Fleta Bayer, Andrew Winslow, Bud Winslow and Maxine Winslow and son: Sam Colwell.

She is survived by her children: Dale Colwell and wife, Darlene, Ottawa, Kansas; Loran Colwell and wife, Shirley, Maryville; Daughter-in-law: Carol Colwell, Thornton, Colorado; Jack Colwell and wife, Tanis, St. Joseph, Missouri; John Colwell and wife, Judy, Lochbuie, Colorado; Mary Margaret Stoaks and husband, Fred, Kansas City, Missouri; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; a sister: Mary White, Maryville, Missouri;
brother: Earl Howard “Rube” Winslow, Uniontown, Pennsylvania; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation is 6-7pm Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Price Funeral Home, Maryville.
Funeral Services will be 2pm, Friday, January 16, 2009 at Price Funeral Home Chapel, Maryville, Missouri. Burial is in Ohio Cemetery, Burlington Junction, Missouri.

Probstfield, Regis, Father, OSB -

Fr. Regis Probstfield, OSB, 77, of Conception Abbey, Conception, Missouri died Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at the Abbey.
Vernon Charles Probstfield was born February 16, 1931 in Verona, Missouri, the son of
Paul John I, and Christine Antonia (Van Hatten) Probstfield. He graduated from Conception Seminary High School in 1949; entered the novitiate at Conception in 1951; and professed first vows as a Benedictine Monk on September 8, 1952 receiving the name Regis. He was ordained a priest on April 6, 1957.

Having graduated from Catholic University of America, Washington DC in 1958 Fr. Regis went on to earn a Masters degree in Latin from Fordham University in New York City in 1961.

Father held many positions in the monastery, the seminary and various pastoral assignments over the years. In 1981, having served as a superior in the monastery for a few years, he was assigned pastor of St Joseph’s Parish in Parnell, Missouri. From there he returned to the Indian Missions in Ft Yates, North Dakota. In 1996 he returned to the Abbey and served his confreres as Ordofex, as well as secretary to the Abbot and Chaplain of St Stephen’s Infirmary.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Paul John II, Edgar, John, Lawrence, Clarence, James and Fr Edgar Probstfield OSB, who died in 2007 and his sister: Ruth Evans.
Fr Regis is survived by his Monastic Community, his sister, Mrs. Caroline McNerney, Mt Vernon, Missouri; brother: Ralph Probstfield, Tucson, Arizona; sisters-in-law: Mrs. Geneva Probstfield, Verona, Missouri and Mrs. Gerda Fitts, Hermitage, Missouri and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Vespers for the Dead will be at 7:15pm Thursday, November 6, 2008 at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, Conception, Missouri.
