Memorial services were held Friday, January 20, 2006, at Price Funeral Home Chapel, Maryville, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Maryville. Military services will be conducted by the James Edward Gray American Legion Post #100, Maryville.

Martens, Lou Jean, 84, died Thursday, September 15, 2005, at Parkdale Manor, Maryville. She was born and raised in Indianola, IA and her married life was spent in Martensdale. Services were held Monday, September 19, at Overton Funeral Home, Indianola. Burial was in the Linn Grove Cemetery, rural Norwalk. Matthews, Dorothy "Dot" Lee Seighman, 70, Bedford, IA, died Saturday, October 22, 2005, at Bergen-Mercy Hospital, in Omaha. Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 26, at the Ritchie Funeral Home, Bedford. Interment was held in the Fairview Cemetery, Bedford. McKee, Peggy D., 57, Stewartsville, died Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at a St. Joseph hospital. She had been a resident of Stewartsville since 1997, moving from Willard. McTague, Mary Annunciata, Sister, OSB, 86, died Wednesday, November 2, 2005, at our Lady of Rickenbach Health Care, Clyde. Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, November 7, at the Main Chapel, at the Benedictine Convent of Perpetual Adoration. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Clyde. Meek, Nora, 92, Waukee, IA, died, Monday, August 29, 2005, at her home. A private graveside service was held Tuesday, August 30, in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Parnell, with Pastor Michael Roberts officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home, Grant City.

 

Meyer, Vincent Gregory passed on December 5, 2005 after a long, productive life. He was born on December 30, 1919, at Parnell, Mo., and lived in Guilford and Maryville, and Oskaloosa, IA, Minneapolis, Gardener, KS and again in Maryville. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Helen Roberts Meyer, three sons, three daughters, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was a small business owner, co-owning Meyer Specialty and Meyer New Look with his brother, Jerry and owned Midwest Electric Heat Company, all in Maryville. He was a salesman, specializing in energy efficiency and conservation and introduced concepts that are now standard in the home insulation industry.

During World War II, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps, earned his commission, became a pilot and trained many other pilots. After the war, he joined the Missouri National Guard as a pilot, rising to the rank of colonel and commanded the 129th Field Artillery Battalion in Maryville.

He was a gardener, birdwatcher, carpenter and designer, rock mason, amateur musician, photographer, hunter, fisherman and traveler.

A member of St. Gregory's Parish, Maryville, he also belonged to the Retired Military Officers Association.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hildred Rickman Meyer; his parents, Frank Bernard and Veronica (Guenther) Meyer; and brothers, Andrew and Gerald Meyer.

Survivors include his widow, Helen; his brothers and sister, Donald and Robert Meyer and Marcella Kwoka; and children. They are Judy and her husband, Jerry Allen, Maryville; Joyce and her husband, Richard Steiner, Fairway, KS.; Frank and his wife, Amy Meyer, Austin, TX; Marvin and his wife, Cherub Meyer, Des Moines, IA; Marilyn Meyer, Cocoa, FL; and Chris Meyer, Long Beach, CA. His grandchildren are Michelle Ilsley and her children, Andrea, Chase and Denver; Cindi and her husband, Rob Becker and children, Lauren and Adam; Gerold Allen and his children, Brennan and Bryson; Jason Meyer; Kelly Meyer; Melo-dee and her husband, Ben Scarf; Ryland Meyer; Michael Zeorlin and Jeremy Steiner.

A Legion of Mary Rosary will be at 4 pm, Thursday, December 8, at Price Funeral Home, Maryville. Visitation: 7-8 pm, Thursday, December 8, at Price Funeral Home, Maryville. A Funeral Mass will be at 11 am, Friday, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, in Maryville. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, Maryville.

Memorials in Vince’s name, may be made to Catholic Charities or American Red Cross.

Meyer, Katherine Lucile, 87, Maryville, formerly of Ravenwood, died Friday, March 18, 2005, at Living Community of St. Joseph. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 22, at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Maryville. Meyer, Mary Anselma, Sister., 89, Benedictine Convent of Perpetual Adoration, Clyde, died Saturday, January 7, 2006.

Wake service was held Monday, January 9, at Our Lady of Rickenbach, Clyde. Funeral mass was held Tuesday, January 10, at the Benedictine Chapel of Perpetual Adoration, Clyde.

Arrangements were under the direction of Price Funeral Home, Maryville.

Miller, Milford L., 87, Burlington Jct., died Monday, November 28, 2005. He was born December 23, 1917, near Burlington Jct., to Clarence and Zelda Hull Miller. He graduated from Burlington Jct. High School, in 1935. On September 16, 1939, he married Roberta M. Dew, in Maryville. She preceded him in death, in 2004. Mr. Miller was a truck driver and in later years drove a school bus for West Nodaway Schools. He served in the United States Army during World War II. The body has been cremated and there will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of Barr-Merrick Funeral Home, Burlington Jct.

Mills, Shaun Matthew, 17, died Sunday, August 28, 2005. Services were held Thursday, September 1, at Bethany Memorial Chapel, with Reverend Olin Slaughter officiating. Burial was in Miriam Cemetery.

Morehouse, Frances Elnora Foster, 83, Maryville, formerly of Hopkins, died Thursday, November 24, 2005, at her home in Maryville. Born March 25, 1922, she was a 1940 graduate of Hopkins High School. On February 16, 1942, she married Donald H. Morehouse in Los Angeles, CA. Mrs. Morehouse was a member of the Wray Memorial United Methodist Church and American Legion Auxiliary #288, both in Hopkins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Thelma Foster and Gus and Helen Hall Bosley; a sister, Helen Buchholz; son-in-law, Jim O’Brien. She is survived by her husband, Don, of the home; daughters, Elaine “Pemmy” O’Brien, Mt. View, AR, Donna Hall and husband, Brian, Jackson, MS, Janet Drummond and husband, Eddie, Hopkins, Deb DeMott and husband, Mark and Terri Dawson and husband, Rick, all of Maryville; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, November 28, at Wray Memorial United Methodist Church. Burial was in Hopkins Cemetery, Hopkins. Mozingo, Gary Lynn, 63, Bloomfield, IA, formerly of Maryville, died Saturday, November 26, 2005, at his home. He was born November 27, 1942, in Maryville, to William and Thelma Henry Mozingo. He graduated from Maryville High School and Northwest Missouri State University. Survivors include his sons, Eric Mozingo, Kansas City and Phillip Mozingo, Daytona Beach, FL; brothers, Billy Mozingo, Maryville, Robert Mozingo, Burlington, IA and Jerry Mozingo, Bloomfield, IA. A memorial will be held at a later date. The body was cremated.

 

Mozingo, Gary Lynn, 62, Bloomfield, IA, formerly of Maryville, died Saturday, November 26, 2005, at his home.

He was born November 27, 1942, in Maryville, the son of William E. and Thelma P. Henry Mozingo.

An 11 am memorial service, with visitation from 10-11 am, will be held Friday, February 3, 2006, at Price Funeral Home, Maryville. Burial is in Miriam Cemetary, Maryville.

Mumford, Naomi Pearl, 88, Maryville, died Saturday, August 13, 2005, at her home in Maryville. Mo. Mumford's wishes were to be cremated with no visitation or services held. Her ashes will be buried in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Maryville.

 

Murray, Jack R., 73, Maryville, died, Thursday, January 26, 2006, at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph.

He was born September 27, 1932, in Maitland, to Guy R. and Gladys M. Nedrow Murray.

A memorial service was held Saturday, January 28, 2006, at Sunrise Park, Maryville. Military Honors were under the auspice of Missouri Military Funeral Honors Program.

Mr. Murray has been cremated under the direction of Meierhoffer Funeral Home and Crematory.

O'Riley, Jane, 84, Maryville, died Thursday, November 24, 2005, at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph. She was born July 15, 1921, in Skidmore, to Fred and Goldie Still Haynes. She married William "Bill" James O'Riley on September 24, 1946, in Maryville. He preceded her in death, July 10, 2001. Mrs. O'Riley was a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Maryville. She was also a member of Maryville Women’s Bowling Association. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald “Dick” F. Haynes. She is survived by one sister, Helen Meyer, Maryville; two nieces, Pam Purtle, Foristell and Paula Boyer, Southern Pines, NC; nephew, Patrick Weston, Kingwood, TX. Funeral services were held Monday, November 28, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church. Burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Maryville. Arrangements were under the direction of Price Funeral Home, Maryville.

 

 

Parker, Mabel, 102, formerly of Pickering, died January 31, 2006, at Carriage Square, St. Joseph, where she had lived this past year.

She was born June 7, 1903, in Greenville, TN, to Jonathan and Margaret Pickering Bales.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm, Saturday, February 4, 2006, at Price Funeral Home, Maryville, with visitation from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm. Burial is in White Oak Cemetery, Pickering.

Memorials may be made to the UMW of Pickering United Methodist Church.

Parman, Clyde Andrew, 94, died Sunday August 28, 2005, at the Worth County Convalescent Center, Grant City.
