Mann, Dorothy - Dorothy Mann, formerly of Pickering, died Monday, September 14, 2009, in Tucson, AZ.
She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Robert Mann, Tucson; three children; sisters, Mary Treese, Maryville, and Margaret Damgar, Tucson.
Donations may be made to the charity of choice.


Mattson, Georgia Arminta Kimmet - Georgia Arminta Kimmet Mattson, 88, Maryville, died Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at Golden LivingCenter, Maryville.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Price Funeral Home, Maryville.

McAmis, Geneva Kathryn - Geneva Kathryn McAmis, 95, Maryville, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Nodaway Nursing Home, Maryville.
Funeral services will be 2 pm, Friday, July 3, at Price Funeral Home Chapel, Maryville, with burial in Nodaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Maryville. Visitation is anytime at Price Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church or charity of the donor’s choice.

McClurg, Lloyd Robert - Lloyd Robert McClurg, the son of Earl R. and Margaret L. (Shannon) McClurg, was born September 3, 1922 in Maryville, Missouri. He attended the Bloomfield Grade School in his youth and graduated from Horace Mann High School in Maryville. Lloyd graduated from Northwest Missouri Teachers College, also of Maryville, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Industrial Technology.

Lloyd served his country during World War II in the Air Force as a radio technician on Tinian Island one of the Mariana Islands.

On May 21, 1950, Lloyd was united in marriage to Wanda Lee Grace. This year they celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. They lived and farmed south of Pickering, Missouri where they raised four children. Lloyd passed away Saturday, July 4, 2009, at Golden Living Center, Maryville, at the age of 86 years.

Lloyd was a member of the Laura Street Baptist Church, where he served in many capacities including: deacon, Sunday School teacher, and bus greeter. Lloyd was also a member of the James Edward Gray American Legion Post #100 of Maryville.

He enjoyed working in his workshop making wooden toys for his grandchildren and hundreds of bird houses for 4-H Clubs, Boy Scouts, and anyone enjoying wildlife.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ralph McClurg. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Lee, Maryville; daughters, Cora Lee Konecny and husband, Ron, Kearney, Nebraska, Grace Carmichael and husband, Jerry, Columbia, Missouri, Nancy Mann, Independence, Kansas; son, Fred McClurg and wife, Marty, New Liberty, Iowa; twelve grandchildren; one great grandchild; sisters, Cleta Salyers and her husband, Tommy, Malvern, Iowa, Jeanie Stocks and her husband, Art, Mason City, Iowa, Letha Jackson, and her husband, Leland, Kansas City, Missouri.

Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Maryville, Missouri. Services directed by Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port, Mo.


McCord, Dorothy May - Dorothy May McCord, 88, Pickering, formerly of Barnard, died Thursday, June 18, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital and Health Services, Maryville.
She was born November 25, 1920, in Quitman, the daughter of Benjamin and Myrtle Hughbanks Gossard.
Mrs. McCord’s body has been cremated and no service will be held.
Memorials may be directed to the John McCord Scholarship Fund, South Nodaway High School, 209 Morehouse, Barnard, MO 64423.

McGeorge, Grace Joy - [19 Dec 1957] Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Guilford Methodist church for Mrs Grace Joy McGeorge, 70, Stanberry, who was taken by death Thursday morning in the St Francis hospital in Maryville.

The services were conducted by the Rev Lynus Stevenson and burial was in the Weathermon cemetery, near Guilford, under the direction of the Johnson Funeral Home, Stanberry.

Survivors include her husband, Chesley McGeorge, of the home; a son, Eldon McGeorge, Bolckow; two daughters, Mrs Iris Duncan, Olathe, Kan., and Mrs Raymond Miller, Stanberry; a sister, Mrs Wm McGeorge, Loveland, Colo.; a brother, Roy Weathermon, Stanberry, and four grandchildren.

Mrs McGeorge spent all of her life in the Guilford and Stanberry area. She was a member of the Guilford Christian church and earlier in her life taught in three Nodaway county schools -- Lafayette, White Oak, and Scudder.

McGeorge, Chesley - [Sep 26, 1966] Special to the Gazette. Stanberry, Mo.--Chesley A. McGeorge, 85, died Monday at a Stanberry rest home. He was a retired farmer of the Stanberry community.

Born on a farm southwest of Stanberry, he had moved into Stanberry 19 years ago. He also had made his home with a daughter, Mrs Iris Duncan of Olathe, Kan. Mr McGeorge was a member of the Guilford, Mo., Methodist Church, and the Modern Woodmen lodge.

Additional survivors include another daughter, Mrs Elsie Miller of Stanberry; a son, Eldon McGeorge of Bolckow, Mo; three borthers, Marion McGeorge of Omaha, Neb., Emmett McGeorge of King City, Mo., and Charles McGeorge of Silesia, Mont.; three sisters, Mrs Mary Clark and Mrs Alda Coler, both of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs Ethel Duley of Stanberry; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 pm Thursday at the Guilford Methodist Church. The Rev J.J. Munshaw will officiate, and burial will be in Weathermon cemetery at Guilford.

The body is at the Johnson mortuary at Stanberry.

McGeorge, Ralph Edwin - Ralph Edwin McGeorge, 77, Guilford, died at 4:50 pm Thursday at a hospital in Albany following a brief illness.

He was born March 5, 1899, in Illinois, and was the son of the late Joshua and Ella Humphrey McGeorge. On Dec 22, 1923, in Maryville he was married to Berniece Ginn, who survives.

McGeorge had lived in the Guilford area most of his life and was a retired school custodian.

Additional survivors include five daughters, Mrs Irene Green, Mrs Hazel Clements, Mrs Alice Kennedy and Mrs Patty Auffert, St Joseph, and Mrs Betty Murphy, Hopkins; three sons, Kenneth McGeorge, Louisburg, Kan., Lloyd McGeorge, Glendora, Calif., and Billy Joe McGeorge, St Joseph; one sister, Mrs Edith Jackson, Englewood, Colo; 35 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

The body is at the Johnson Funeral Home, Maryville, where arrangements are pending.

McGinness, Lucretia Smith - Mrs Lucretia McGinness of Sheridan, age 62, died at 4:10 o'clock this morning at the St Francis hospital where she had been a patient six weeks.

Mrs McGinness was born October 21, 1887, the daughter of John W. and Barbara Bowman Smith. On January 18, 1906, she was married to Samuel C. McGinness of Quitman.

For the past seven years they have resided at Sheridan.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, John McGinness, Ravenwood, and William Douglas McGinness, who is with the U.S. army in Germany; five daughters, Mrs S.S. Thomas, Vallejo, Calif; Mrs Don Neeley and Mrs John Tatman, Quitman; Mrs M.L. Baker, Kansas City, and Mrs W.W. Scherck, Chula Vista, Calif; two sisters, Mrs A.A. Campbell, Elmo, and Mrs Roy Yates, Riverside, Calif; two brothers, William Smith, Burlington Junction, and Henry Smith, Elmo, and seven grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Funeral services for Mrs Samuel C. McGinness of Sheridan will be conducted at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Price funeral home. Burial will be in the Hill Crest Cemetery of Skidmore.

Mrs McGinness died Wednesday morning at the St Francis hospital where she had been a patient six weeks.

Morgan, Francis Delbert "Frank" - Francis Delbert “Frank” Morgan, 85, St. Augustine, FL, formerly of Maryville, died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph.
He was born Thursday, April 10, 1924, in Kansas City, the son of John and Elizabeth Brennen.
He was a graduate of Horace Mann High School and attended Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville.
On October 12, 1963, he was united in marriage to Jane Etta Jones, in Duncan, OK. She preceded him in death November 22, 1989.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, June 18, at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Inurnment was in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Mozingo, Ernie - Ernie Mozingo, 62, died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital, Shenandoah, IA.

Murphy, Mary Ocul Ruch - Mary Ocul Murphy, 94, died Saturday, May 9, 2009, at King City Manor, King City. She was born March 16, 1915, in Gentry, to George Lewis and Mary Pool Ruch. On September 29, 1933, she married James C. Murphy in Albany. He preceded her in death July 4, 1978. Mrs. Murphy was a member of the Christian Church, Ravenwood. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Harold Ruch, John Ruch, Ellis Ruch and Lewis Ruch and sister, Florence Murphy. Survivors include two sons, Martin Murphy, Gentry, and David Murphy, St. James; three daughters, Phyllis A. Wiederholt, St. Joseph, Donna L. Hernandez, Wellsville, KS, and Nancy L. Price, King City. Murren, Aurene Spencer - Aurene Murren, 74, Shambaugh, Iowa, died Friday, Jan 19, at the Bethesda Care Center in Clarinda, Iowa.

She was born March 19, 1915 to Ovando and Ethel Spencer. She married Clifford Murren on Oct 17, 1960.

Survivors include, her husband, Clifford, of the home; seven children. Garland Spenser, Prairie Village, Kan., Mrs G.D. (Etheljane) Freece, Lathrop, Mrs Darrell (Helena) Lukas, Holt, Mrs Harriett Simpson, Watertown, NY., Stanley Troncin, Kansas City, Judy Webber, Watertown, NY; a brother Frank Spencer, Olathe, Kan.; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1:30 pm Tuesday at Walker-Merrick Funeral Home in Clarinda, Iowa with the Rev Ray Draper officiating.

Burial will be in Miriam Cemetery in Maryville under the direction of Walker-Merrick Funeral Home of Clarinda [Iowa].
