Frances Morehouse
Frances Elnora Foster Morehouse, 83, Maryville, formerly of Hopkins, died Thursday, November 24, 2005, at her home in Maryville.
Born March 25, 1922, she was a 1940 graduate of Hopkins High School. On February 16, 1942, she married Donald H. Morehouse in Los Angeles, California.
Mrs. Morehouse was a member of the Wray Memorial United Methodist Church and American Legion Auxilary #288 both in Hopkins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Thelma Foster and Gus and Helen Hall Bosley, a sister Helen Buchholz and son-in-law, Jim O'Brien.
She is survived by her husband Don, of the home, daughters, Elaine "Pemmy" O'Brien, Mt. View, AR, Donna Hall and husband Brian, Jackson, Mississippi, Janet Drummond and husband Eddie, Hopkins, Deb DeMott and husband Mark, and Terri Dawson and husband Rick, all of Maryville, 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 28, at Wray Memorial United Methodist Church. Burial in Hopkins Cemetery, Hopkins.
Memorials may be made to North Nodaway Educational Foundation or SSM Hospice of North Missouri.
Arrangements were under the direction of Price Funeral Home, Maryville.
Beverly Ann (Morehouse ) Bollinger
Beverly Ann Bollinger, 73, Hopkins, died July 3, 2001 at Maryville Heath Care.
Mrs. Bollinger was born April 15, 1928, in Nodaway County, her parents were Ula Ulmont and Inez Azora Lawler Morehouse. She married Donald Warren Bollinger on February 22, 1947 in Maryville.
She was a graduate of Hopkins High School, Class of 1946.
She was a member of Wray Memorial United Methodist Church, Hopkins and Order of Eastern Star Chapter # 401, Hopkins.
Mrs. Bollinger was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Dorothy Gava and Margaret Roush.
Survivors include her husband, Donald, Hopkins,two daughters, Pamela Fox of Durango, Colorado, and Donna Sharp of Omaha, Nebraska, one son Ronald Bollinger of Budapest, Hungary, seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, three sisters, Rose Robbins, Hopkins, Betty Engle, Hopkins, and Ruth Hinton, Parkvlle.
A private graveside service was held at Hopkins Cemetery. Rev. Susan Noakes officiated

Cecil Max Cox
Funeral services for Max Cox, age 90 of Bedford, who died Sunday, August
6, 2006 at the Bedford Nursing & Rehab Center were held Friday, August
11, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the Ritchie Funeral Home with Reverend Jamie
Mogler officiating. Interment with military rites accorded by the John
F. Hardin American Legion Post No. 164 were held in the Fairview Cemetery
in Bedford. Memorials can be given in his name. Arrangements were entrusted
to the Ritchie Funeral Home of Bedford.
Cecil Max Cox was born October 11, 1915, in rural Page County, Iowa. He was one of ten children born to William A. Cox and Effie (Downey) Cox. Max and a brother farmed for a few years. He then drove a truck for Cudahy Packing Company in Bedford on a country cream and egg route. On October 2, 1940, he was united in marriage to Verna M. Lewis, daughter of Fred H. and Lula Lewis. They spent their entire married life in Bedford and in 1952, they built their home on Court Street. After 62 years of marriage, Verna preceded him in death in November of 2002.
Max answered the call to serve his country in October of 1942. He was in the service for three years, serving 30 months of that time in the South Pacific. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and several other medals.
Max was the first school bus driver for the Bedford Community School District. He later worked as a custodian in the school for 30 years. He loved working with the children. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Bedford, serving in several capacities throughout the years. He also served the community in numerous ways, including participation on the Library Board and helping with the Taylor County Museum. He was Commander of the Bedford V.F.W. for two years and belonged to the John F. Hardin American Legion Post No. 164. Max loved to be outdoors, hunting and fishing whenever he could. Being a ‘staunch supporter’ of the Bedford Bulldogs, Max enjoyed watching all kinds of athletic events throughout the years.
Left to cherish Max’s memory is a brother-in-law, Duane Lewis; numerous nieces and nephews and their extended families and many dear friends throughout the community and especially the Godfather’s Coffee Crew.
Preceding Max in death were his parents; his loving wife Verna in 2002; four brothers, Clifford, Ober, Kenneth, and John Howard; five sisters, Mimalee, Audrey, Luna, Grace and Dorothy.
May God grant comfort and strength to those who mourn his passing.
Max CoxDonald W. Bollinger
Donald W. Bollinger, 78, Hopkins, died November 28, 2001, at Beverly Healthcare Center, Maryville.
Mr. Bollinger, was born December 18, 1922 in Union Starr. His parents wee Harry W. and Frances Dittmar Bollinger. He married Beverly Ann Morehouse, on February 22, 1947 in Maryville.
He was a graduate of Hopkins High School, Class of 1940.
He was a member of Wray Memorial United Methodist Church, Hopkins, Lions Club, Community Club, Xenia Masonic Lodge 50 AF and AM, OES, Glen Ulmer American Legion Post 288. He helped organize the Hopkins Fire District, and served on Hopkins Cemetery Board. He served as a member of the North Nodaway School Board for seven years.
Mr. Bollinger was a US Navy veteran having served in WWII.
He was a retired farmer.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Fox, Durango, Colorado, and Donna Sharp, Omaha, Nebraska, one son Ronald Bollinger, St. Mary's, Florida, six grandchildren, two brothers, Lynn Bollinger, Alden, Iowa and Robert Bollinger, Union Starr.
Visitation will be after 9a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2001, at Swanson-Price Chapel, Hopkins. Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday December 1, 2001 at Swanson-Price Chapel Mosonic services will conducted by Xenia Masonic Lodge 50 AF & AM, immediately following funeral services. Rev. Susan Stowers Noakes will officiate.
